Volunteer Spotlight – Ambar Banerjee

Ambar Banerjee is an online volunteer for the Awareness Department in Mumbai Smiles. He lives in Kolkata and came to know about Mumbai Smiles though its website. Ambar is fluent in Spanish and thus he desired to utilize this knowledge in a noble way. He got this opportunity at Mumbai Smiles. Currently, Ambar translates Spanish documents into English and vice versa. By lending a hand to the organization in this manner, he not only utilizes his knowledge effectively but also helps the organization interpret useful documents in a short period of time.

According to him, Mumbai Smiles was formed to give underprivileged communities an access to basic human rights. Along with language application, he wanted to know about the needs of underprivileged communities and consequently, make a difference in their lives. For him, every experience is important and he hopes to get a unique experience from “Mumbai Smiles” so that he can know the world from grass root and enhance his skills to make a difference in the society.

Ambar has also worked in social media marketing for Bengali movies and has developed several short-films and documentaries on social issues.

We really admire his assistance to the organization. Distance has never been a barrier for his selfless service. We truly appreciate his work for us.
