10 years celebration: Community Events
“We do not work for the community, we work with the community” Jaume Sanllorente, President Founder of Mumbai Smiles, greeted the audience on the Opening ceremony with these lines. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by the President Founder Jaume Sanllorente, Executive Director India Mr. Narendra Kumar Dundu and Medical Officer Dr. Patil from K East Ward.
Living up to the vision of the organization, celebrating our success with our beneficiaries is what truly defines our 10! years. From 7th April to 9th April Mumbai Smiles celebrated its 10 years of serving the communities, with the communities in Marol, Sangharshnagar and Powai. Beneficiaries being the center of Mumbai Smiles’ projects have been a significant part of all our endeavors.
The celebrations in the community included various performances both for awareness building and entertainment. The events began with Balwadi children performing on motivational songs, followed by community awareness play by Balwadi teachers. The event further involved the Life Skills Empowerment girls performing a play on eve teasing. All these performances were concluded by beneficiaries from various projects sharing their experiences with Mumbai Smiles. One of the beneficiaries from SEED beautician course, Sunita Gade said “Mumbai Smiles has helped me to earn money and support my family. Today I have a parlor of my own and have many clients.”
With this the community events saw the influx of many of our beloved beneficiaries and the community had a festive day with us.
