Photo Exhibition: Successful narration of the stories
Recently, with a view to celebrate 10 years of our existence, we organized a photo exhibition at Sophia college, Breach candy in association with Student for Social Reforms initiative on 27th February 2015 from 10 am to 3 pm where works of Oliver and Prachi(our volunteers) were displayed and a small contest was also held where the participants were required to frame a caption for any picture that appealed to them. It was due to the efforts of Mumbai Smiles team members – Mrs. Kushala, Pari, and Amit that the entire event was a success. The event was inaugurated in the presence of staff members of Sophia College. Volunteers Fiona and Emma took up the responsibility at the desk and also developed the event report.
Thanks to Sophia College SSRI club team members, who helped in organizing the event. Vandita Morarka, the club secretary, coordinated all the logistics at the event and also introduced us to volunteers, who helped through the day.
In the contest, more than 60 captions for various pictures were given by the participants. The best caption was ‘Correcting perspectives’, written by Ahana which ultimately won the first prize and the hamper.
The Principal and dean of Sophia College – Dr. Ananda Amritmahal and Sr. Rosa visited and felicitated the event. Sr. Rosa gave the following feedback – “Very good projects. Keep it up and inspire many more young people”.
Completion of 10 years marks a significant milestone in our journey and we look forward to inspire many more young people to come forward and uplift the societies they live in.
