The second wave of COVID-19 has dramatically broken out in India. The situation of the Indian healthcare system is at its limit: there are no beds in hospitals, there is a lack of oxygen, medicines and medical supplies. This situation is leaving the most vulnerable people in a situation of exclusion and vulnerability even greater than before.
From Mumbai Smiles we are promoting actions to respond to the most priority health needs at present, with the aim of supporting especially hospitals and public resources.
With 10€ we will be able to buy 2 injections of heparin for the patients in the Nair Charitable Hospital located in Bombay, and save their lives. Our goal is to get 20,000 injections.
With 15€ we will be able to buy 1 cardboard bed so that the patients in two temporary quarantine centers will have a bed of their own. The current situation is so critical that the same bed is shared by 3 people. Our goal is to get 650 beds.
With 20 € we will be able to buy 1 oxygen mask that will be given to the health workers and patients of the Nair Charitable Hospital. Our goal is to get 4000 masks.
