Tuberculosis Awareness Campaign with BEST Depot

Mumbai Smiles along with BEST Department inaugurated the world TB day program at Mumbai Central Depot.

No of Participants:

1. 170 Conductors & drivers
2. 30 members from BMC health Department.
3. BEST medical team.

The program began at 11 am with street play by the Mumbai Smiles street play team. Dr. Anil Singal, Chief Medical Officer BEST, Mr. Jadhav, Manager of BEST Depot, Dr. Sonavne, MOH, BMC Health Department attended the program.

BEST Buses drivers have teamed up with the Mumbai Smiles, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to spread awareness on TB in the run-up to World TB Day at Mumbai Central BEST depot on Tuesday on 22-3-2016. BEST bus drivers and conductors were also involved in spreading awareness to prevent the spread of TB in Mumbai.

All BEST Officers, drivers and conductors have fitted with anti-TB Batches and union activists are being trained to spread awareness in Buses and colonies where BEST drivers reside.

BEST drivers and conductors on duty were wearing badges to create awareness among citizens to fight TB. Event was jointly organized by BEST, Mumbai Smiles and Mumbai Municipal Corporation at Mumbai Central Depot.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anil Singal said, BEST has always supported such initiatives and this event was jointly organized by Mumbai smiles organization and BEST”.

Narayan Lad, Project Officer of Mumbai Smiles said, “we are glad to join hands with BEST for such a campaign, BEST gives us huge platform to reach out to people and make a greater impact”.
