In today’s world children are demanded to perform beyond their capacities, be it academics or personal life. Although stress is a critical part of everyone’s life, it is important to deal with it effectively. Stress can, on one hand, lead to better performance and on the other push students to make life threatening choices.

Keeping in mind the needs of the students, Mumbai Smiles organized stress management workshop for Future Smiles and Girl Child Education beneficiaries in classes 9th to 12th grade. On 23rd December, 60 of Future Smiles and GCE beneficiaries along with their parents attended the workshop conducted by Mr. Prakash Mohite. The objective of the workshop was to help the students identify the stressors and effectively deal with it. The workshop involved teaching the students about SWOT analysis i.e. strength, weakness, opportunities and threats which would help them improve their coping strategies. The workshop aimed at discussing the various concepts of stress management with the help of commonly known stories like thirsty crow, tortoise and hare etc. they also discussed various methods through which stress can be reduced like meditation, counting number backward/forward, art, developing hobby etc. techniques like these would help the students deal with exam stress, relationship stress, dealing with friends etc.

The beneficiaries were extremely happy with the workshop. Mumbai Smiles plans to conduct such educational workshops regularly to support the students.
