St. Rocks School starts the first Smiling Schools session of the year

 In Mumbai Smiles

The ‘Smiling Schools’ concept is a novel new idea pioneered by Mumbai Smiles. It is a way for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in India to interact with their peers from schools in Spain. This type of exposure not only helps the students to develop a connection with their peers; it also helps them to understand each other better and to become more empathetic and aware global citizens of the future.

On 22 October 2018, the first session of the Smiling Schools project for this year was held at St. Rocks School in Andheri. It was attended by 50 students of Class 9. The purpose of this session was to serve as an orientation for these students—to introduce them to the concept of Smiling Schools, explain how it will progress throughout the year and what they can look forward to. The Higher Education project is very optimistic that this year’s Smiling Schools sessions will be productive and fruitful and will be loved by the participating students, both in India and in Spain.
