Spectacle distribution at Salvenagar

Mumbai Smiles’ Eye and health care project ensures that curable eye ailments are timely brought to medical care. Mumbai Smiles has successfully carried out many camps for eye checkup in partnership with Haji Bacchu Ali Eye Hospital, Vision Foundation of India and Aditya Jyot Hospital. Since its inception, the project has reached out to a total of 6,705 general beneficiaries. These beneficiaries are screened for refractive errors, cataract and other treatable eye diseases and accordingly provided requisite treatment such as cataract surgery.

Recently, a spectacle distribution activity was carried out at Salvenagar, post the Eye checkup camp. The camp was conducted at the Birsa Munda Adivasi Kalyan,MIDC. A total number of 89 beneficiaries were given spectacles. The event was possible with the support of Shiva Gavit,President.

The beneficiaries noted that “This is the first time we got specs on time and free of cost. Specsare made as per our needs and eye problems” said Nirmala Gavit. Another beneficiary Monita Bera said that “After having the spectacles, my near-sightedness problem is resolved. I am very Thankful to Mumbai Smiles for organizing the came and distributing specs as per our needs.”

Overall the event was a big success because of our partner Aditya Jyot Foundation.
