SEED workshop: Zardozi emboidery skills
We have started our latest skills development training programme under the SEED project.
The new batch of women is getting trained in ‘Zardozi embroidery skills’, which started with an orientation session last week. A total of 30 candidates have enrolled for this course.
As you can see from these photos, this training involves imparting embroidery skills and technique to women; they will learn to identify different material, measuring and colour selection, designing skills and finesse. Once they complete this programme, they will be able to gain employment by doing this work for fashion boutiques, retailers and others in the industry.
Many of the women expressed interest in this field because of the creativity involved and the flexibility afforded by this work, where they can work from home and aim towards setting up their own enterprise as well.
