SEED, the name for skills development programme, aims to equip women & girls from low-income backgrounds with tangible, marketable skills that can help them earn a proper livelihood.

In our last blog on SEED project we told you about the women getting training in Beautician and Fast Food. We are now happy to share with you that we started our 1st batch for this year in “Call Center Training program” for the girls in slums of Marol Pipeline area, Andheri (E) on 12th of August 2013. A total of 30 girls have got enrolled for this course.

The syllabus for the above course has been designed focusing on the employability opportunities available in the market. It is a sandwich course which will cover the topics like basic computer, salesmanship, communication & customer handling. It has been designed in such a manner to increase the employability options for the girls in the market after completion of the training program.

The training program, with sessions every afternoon from 2pm to 4pm for the past 5 days, has seen around 30 girls learn basic skills in communication and reverting back to a problem or query.

Here, in these photos, you can see the training in progress, with the girls thoroughly enjoying this learning experience. From the pictures who can see them doing the practical session through role plays.
