Plan a Visit to Mumbai Smiles!

In Awareness, Events, Mumbai Smiles, Thank You

The summers have arrived in Spain and many are planning their vacations; a trip to remember. This is the peak time when we get maximum visitors to our projects. Most of these visitors are tourists from Spain, who, on their trip to India and Mumbai, make a stop at our foundation to see our projects first hand. These visits are intended to serve to learn and become aware of the conditions of vulnerability in which many people live in slums in our city. It is not about tourism of poverty, but about knowing a reality with respect for other people, cultures and customs.

And for this, our department of Awareness organises and conducts these visits for all our visitors by way of a project called Responsive Action, which is active in India and Spain, both, to help our supporters and donors understand our ground projects better.

While many of these visitors are individuals or a small group of friends, there are some large organised trips as well that visit us. And in Spain, we have four such collaborators, who include a stop at Mumbai Smiles in their Mumbai itinerary:

1)  Paso Noroeste: Paso Noroeste proposes an itinerary focused on people accustomed to travelling with backpack, motivated by group improvisation and adventure thirst. These groups are a maximum of 11 people.

2)  Orixà Viatges: This agency has joined us only this year to offer trips for one person to a group, making customised itinerary for each traveller to satisfy their travel desires.

3) Viatges en Ruta: Our collaborator Quim Fábregas, an experienced and experienced traveler and travel-organiser, in love with Africa (52 groups of more than 500 people in all have visited with him) and a photography collaborator of Mumbai Smiles, has now included India in his list of travel destinations, including an experience of Solidarity trip to Mumbai Smiles for two days. Viatges en Ruta offers trips for groups of up to 10 people.

4) Camino Sin Fin:  This young adventurer joins this year as a collaborating company with Sonrisas de Bombay, and promotes a precious cultural and solidarity journey through India that will take place in the first two weeks of October. With its philosophy based on cultural immersion, respect for the local idiosyncrasy and its spirit to reach the most exceptional places of the countries to which it travels, will visit our projects for two days, thus putting the finishing touch to an itinerary that will run from Delhi to Bombay, touring Rajasthan.

So, if any of you are in Spain and need to organise a travel to Mumbai and Mumbai Smiles, do contact these fun agencies. If you are traveling on your own, contact us at mumbai@mumbaismiles.org  and we will organise a visit for you here!

We are waiting for you in Bombay!
