In our endeavour towards helping parents realize the basic needs and fundamental rights of their children, the Jump2justice team conducted human rights awareness sessions for parents. A total of 10 awareness sessions were organized for 186 parents across preschools. The sessions were delivered to inform parents about child rights, how to prevent and address violations, and protect their children from exploitation.
Parents were also educated on human rights issues commonly faced by children living in slums, who are generally deprived of basic necessities. Linkages between prevalent social issues and its impact on child rights were explained to parents. Most parents unaware of the concept of human rights found the sessions very useful. Information provided through the sessions will help them stay vigilant protecting themselves and their children from human rights violation.
