Mumbai Smiles wishes all our teachers a Happy Teachers Day!

 In Mumbai Smiles

Teachers Day, a widespread celebration in India since 1967 is observed every year on September 5th to honour and recognize the valuable contribution of teachers towards building a prosperous society. Teachers Day is commemorated on the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a staunch believer of education, a renowned diplomat and scholar, former President of India, and above all a teacher.

As we celebrate Teachers Day today, we remember every teacher who has played an extraordinary role during our childhood and adolescent years, as mentors, gurus, educators, role models, counsellors, tutors, professors, coaches, etc. The significance of teachers in every child, adolescent, and even an adult’s life is endless!

Mumbai Smiles strongly believes that teachers can inspire hope, ignite imagination, and instil a love of learning in children. Mumbai Smiles builds capacities and competencies of teachers to mould them into a valuable and dedicated resource for delivering education, life skills, and need based services to underprivileged children in Mumbai. English speaking courses, workshops, and training sessions are organized in regular intervals where teachers learn about early childhood care and development, basic health and nutrition needs. Teachers are skilled in social and communication skills for counselling parents on importance of health, education and nutrition.

Mumbai Smiles expresses a heartfelt gratitude to all our teachers for being the backbone to Mumbai Smiles projects!
