Another free health camp was organised by the Infectious Diseases team recently, this time in Bhandup area (northern part of Mumbai towards the end) in which 55 beneficiaries were screened especially for Malaria, in addition to general check up.
While the Malaria testing included blood test, in addition to checking for the symptoms of Malaria, such as time-specific fever, shivering and sweating with fever, loss of appetite etc, the general health camp included checking of weight, blood pressure, checking for the common flu as well as blood test for checking the Complete Blood Count, including blood sugar as well.
With the support of Dr. Alvina Patil (Assistant Medical Officer with the Mumbai’s Municipal Corporation) and her team of 20 doctors and technicians, the camp was carried out successfully with proper attention to each of the 55 present citizens, including personal diet counseling as well. Those needing immediate attention were given free medicines and treatment as well. As for the blood reports, so as soon as the reports are out, they will be made available to the citizens personally and those needing treatment will be provided with it as well. And for the entire medical support we are extremely thankful to Dr. Patil and her team for being so patient and kind!
