Kanjurmarg slum residents get free spectacles

After this eye camp that we organised in Kanjurmarg (E) last month, we followed up our work by distributing free spectacles to the residents of the slum in which we work.

Around 180 people had come for a free checkup to the eye camp last month, where technicians and professionals from Vision Foundation of India screened the people. Of these, 95 people were identified as needing prescription spectacles and around 40 people were identified as needing cataract surgeries.

While the details of the surgeries are being worked out, the spectacles, ordered from vendor at a subsidised cost, arrived last week and we distributed them to the beneficiaries on Monday at the slum.
