It gives us immense pleasure to announce that our new project called “JUMP2Justice” successfully conducted its first introductory session for the entire team of Mumbai Smiles.
J2J is a project for the advocacy of Human Rights, which will, within the purview of the Indian Law & Order, will work in an integrated manner with the existing projects of Mumbai Smiles for victims of various social issues and injustice in any form under the horizons of Health, Education, Livelihood and Housing. The project will ensure that the beneficiaries are well aware of the process to stand up for themselves in any adverse situation and are empowered to approach the correct concerned authorities for their grievances to fight for their Human Rights. As the name suggests, J2J will be implemented to ensure that justice is provided to those who need it. And for this, we will provide our complete support, standing firm on our following objectives:
- To play a key role in advocating and enhancing social justice in the field of Health, Education, Children & Women at policy, system and democratic level.
- To create and ensure public awareness principally in the deprived section about various rights and judicial norms in the domain of Health, Education, Children and Women and various ways to avail justice.
- To create and ensure appropriate linkage and network required for effective, affordable, accessible and more importantly a timely justice
And yesterday, the young and enthusiastic team of J2J conducted its first training session for the entire staff of Mumbai Smiles India office, in order to ensure that every member is well aware of what the projects stands for, its beliefs, objectives and mission, and is well equipped with all the necessary information. This session included information on not only the project, but largely on the content of it, which is Human Rights as per the United Nations and also the Indian Constitution (including the Directive Principles and the Fundamental Rights).
After this successful first session, the team is now are gearing up to begin the legwork. Kudos to the team and all the best to this new project!
