Cancer Patients Aid Association along with Holy Spirit hospital organized an interactive session on “An exposure to cancer and diet” by Dr Rukhsana Aayaz and Mamta Goyanka for the beneficiaries of our HOPE project as well as other cancer patients. It was a three hour long session focused on; Benefits of positive thinking, medicines complemented with emotional support from near and dear ones; an important factor in quick recovery, yoga and exercise and misconceptions of the disease like it is not a communicable one. The participants were the patients, parents of beneficiaries, siblings, guardians, Holy Spirit staff and representatives from our HOPE project. During this session cancer survivors shared their experiences about the impact of emotional support, strong will power and positive thinking on quick recovery during the treatment. The words of wisdom coming from the people  who survived the dreaded disease was an outcome of their positive outlook towards life and this  gave great strength to those who are undergoing treatment. The crux of this session was that cancer is a disease which requires more of mental conditioning (i.e. conditioning one’s mind to imbibe only positive energies around the surrounding) along with necessary treatment. When both go together then miracles happen.

In the images below you can see Sangam Pandey, one of  our HOPE project beneficiary sharing her experience.
