German school students visit us

 In Mumbai Smiles

21 DEC 1

Yesterday, we had a special group of visitors to our office and our projects.

A group of school students from Cologne, Germany — who are in India for a short exchange programme — also visited our office and our projects to learn more about issues of poverty, deprivation and development measures in India.

The exchange programme involves the German students interacting with students of the Dahanukar College of Commerce, where they are spending 11 days, teaching the Indian students German, and, in turn, learning about Indian culture and issues. The Germans are living with Indian families for the duration of their stay.

Prior to yesterday’s visit, Mumbai Smiles also visited the Dahanukar College of Commerce and made a presentation to the students there about Mumbai Smiles and our activities.

It was a good learning experience for the students and us, and through our New Glances department, we hope to continue to have such rich interactions.

If you would like to visit our projects, do mail us at mumbai@mumbaismiles.org.
