For The Love Of Sight
Filling up the crescents of our visual globe, Mumbai Smiles organized a free of cost Spectacle Distribution Event. Identifying beneficiaries with refractive errors, this camp was set up to liberate those who were tied under the shackles of poor eyesight.
On 26th June, 2015, a Diabetic Retinopathy and Eye check up camp was put up for a community at Marol Gaon, Andheri East. Among 103 people who participated, 73 were identified with refractive errors. Post check up and establishment of the people who needed the spectacles, a distribution event was set up at Marol Gaon camp on the 29th of July.
The people responsible for leading this activity towards success were Mr. Suresh Harke, Mr. Ashok More, Community Volunteer and Samsam, the Supervisor. The spectacles were delivered to people on time which made them ecstatic and in turn completed our mission with flying colors. Meanwhile, as far as the future of this project is concerned, cataract or any further evaluation is in process.
