The Community Health project team recently tied up with the Higher Education project team to conduct a free ENT (Ear-Nose-Throat) checkup camp for the students of std. 7th and 8th at one of our partner schools called Sharada School in Saki Naka area (close to our office area of Marol).
From among 100 children who were screened at the camp, 3 were found to have ear infections that were given prescriptions for the same by the doctors. One special case of deaf and mute student of std. 10th was brought to notice of the doctors. After thoroughly checking him, the doctors met with his parents and recommended him to another organization that works with specially-abled children like this particular student, to help him with specialized training for communicating with others.
The doctors were very happy with the hygiene and discipline of the school, because of which the health camp was concluded successfully and in an orderly manner. We wish to thank Seven Hills Hospital for partnering with us for this camp, especially to Dr. Jaini Lodha and the team for their patience and for lending an ear to each student’s queries and problems during the camp.
