As part of the annual activities of the Preschool Education project, the drawing competition is organized with the aim to boost the development of motor skills in the tiny tots. The drawing competition was held across all 29 preschool centres at the same time, in which all our 899 students participated with much excitement and joy. The children were given sheets with outlines of different figures, such as house, animals, trees, birds, flowers etc, along with a set of crayon set and the students were given the freedom to use any colour that they wanted to, to fill these shapes.
Children in the preschool centre are in the age group of 2-6 years and this is the crucial age where children need innovative ways to learn about colours, shapes, sizes etc, instead of just looking at books. This is where such activities help in stimulating the creative side of a child. So, from an activity such as this drawing competition, a child’s mind not only starts working to decide on which colour or set of colours suit the given shape best, how to stick to the different borders within the shape. Also, by way of making this event a healthy competition, the children get excited with the anticipation of a prize at the end of the event.
The results of the activity is beautiful with children We firmly believe that each child is equal and each one of them has a special talent like no other and so the prize for this competition is a set of new crayon set and we will be giving a set to each of the 899 students, since for us, each one is a winner!
