Diabetic Retinopathy and Eye Check up camp

In Eye & Health Care, Mumbai Smiles

We at Mumbai Smiles conduct such camps on a timely basis for the communities to assure that they do not suffer with any eye related disorders which can be a hindrance towards leading a normal life. People who are found with cataract or need spectacles; are provided the required treatment free of cost.

One such camp with regards to Diabetic Retinopathy and Eye check up camp was conducted on 30th October Subhash Nagar No.2.in collaboration with Aditya Jyot Hospital, Wadala. A total of 101 people were screened out of which 53 were identified with refractive error problems, 4 of them required cataract evaluation and 14 were identified for further investigation. Spectacles were distributed to 53 people who detected refractive error on 19th Nov 2015 and 6 patients were sent to  Doctor Eye Institute on 23rd Nov 2015 for further investigation.

The success of this camp and the cooperation of Mr.Prashant Patre (President of Dharma Sonu Welfare Society, Shubhsah Nagar 2) is highly appreciated. The cataract surgery is currently in progress.

The community members were thrilled as this was the first time when such a camp was conducted that the spectacles were provided to them within a month. Kudos to the Project team for smooth workings of the camp and timely distribution of the spectacles.
