Two dear collaborators from Spain participated in a plastic collection drive and painting activity.

4th November

Earlier this week, Mrs Alicia and Ms Marta, two dear collaborators participated in a plastic collection drive and painting activity.

To reduce our use of single-use plastic, Mumbai Smiles Foundation organised a plastic collection drive at Marol Pipeline Andheri. Our collaborators Mrs Alicia and Ms Marta teamed up with LSE students to conduct this drive, as part of our initiative to make Mumbai plastic-free.

Notably, since the state-wide ban of plastic, the BMC has collected 76 tonnes of plastic and imposed fines on those who continue using it. However, while the BMC has been busy, it is also the role of citizens to assist the government in the ban. Towards this end, Mumbai Smiles Foundation started this initiative.

Alicia and Marta were also involved in some fun painting activities at our preschool centres in Aarey colony, Govandi, and Kamathipura from October 16 to October 18. The main objective of painting was to create a friendly atmosphere in the preschool, through different colours and designs.
