Bridal make up – by the SEED beneficiaries trained in the Beauty Course

 In Mumbai Smiles

The beautiful bridal make up in these pictures reflects the hard work of 3 entrepreneurs, who run their own beauty parlour in the Andheri East area. A glimpse of these pictures, makes it evident that with the right training and environment, everyone has the potential to perform. Given an appropriate direction, the women from these slums live up to their potential and become independent with a purpose in life.

The beautiful bridal make up in these pictures reflects the hard work of 3 entrepreneurs, who run their own beauty parlour in the Andheri East area. Ayesha, Reshma and Shashi try and make the most important day (wedding day) in the life of a woman memorable. Their area of expertise being bridal makeup, they put their best foot forward  in making a woman look beautiful on the day of her wedding. The story of these 3 women (Shashi, Ayesha and Reshma) in fact is very unique and touches the heart. You can read about their growth process and how they achieved their dream of starting their own beauty parlour on this link https://www.mumbaismiles.org/english/BlogDetails.aspx?id=1035.

It clearly teaches us that if one has the will and spirit, there is nothing that is unachievable in one’s life. They started this parlour after their training at Mumbai smiles. They completed a specific beautician course, one of the trainings provided under our SEED project and then took the initiative to start their own venture. Through this venture, they have been able to fulfill their dream of becoming entrepreneurs and working for themselves

We wish all the best to these women and hope they continue their venture with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

Seed is a skills development program, which seeks to empower women from slum communities with skills that will make them employable and enable them to join the workforce in order to earn a livelihood.
