The small ones are also trapped in the red lights.
#breakwithtrafficking
Thousands of children live in the same places where their mothers are sexually exploited.
HELP US TO BREAK WITH TRAFFICKING
For 10 euro a month you make it possible for 3 children at risk of being trafficked to receive a daily meal in our preschools.
For 15 euro a month, 3 women survivors of trafficking receive medical care when they need it, in our shelter.
For 25 euro a month, you allow 2 children of exploited mothers to have access to medical check-ups for a year.
*These amounts are examples of what we can do with your collaboration.

Children are also victims of the sexual exploitation suffered by their mothers.
When a child lives with her mother in a violent space such as a brothel, it radically affects her development. On a physical, mental, educational or social level, the traumas can be lifelong. In addition, child and sexual abuse are very common.
Boys are recruited as pimps. Girls are recruited as prostitutes.
In many parts of the world, the mafias that subject women to prostitution also recruit their children. The boys, to be pimps. And the girls, to prostitute them. In both cases, they are equally extorted and deprived of their freedom.
Children's rights.
All children have the right to grow up in a healthy environment and to be protected from any form of violence, abuse or exploitation. Trafficking begins in the environment where children grow up. That is why it is essential to stop it.
A stolen childhood.
The trauma of living in an environment of slavery has lifelong consequences for these children. Addictions, mental health problems and a future marked by social exclusion. Avoiding it is possible if we act in time.

For more than 18 years, Mumbai Smiles has been peacefully fighting against the poverty that generates and provokes human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
We work so that the victims of trafficking and their children can be free and have a dignified life of their own.

HOW WE DO IT
PREVENTION
With our preschools, and projects such as Access to School or Smiling Bus, we are committed to ensuring that vulnerable children do not fall prey to organised networks that recruit the most vulnerable.
RESCUE
We carry out rescue operations for survivors of trafficking. Girls aged between 14 and 30, sometimes younger and, in a high percentage, with young children.
REHABILITATION AND REINTEGRATION
Once rescued, the most difficult part remains: their rehabilitation and social reintegration. Overcoming trauma, wounds, years of slavery in many cases. And providing them with the skills and tools to be able to return to society.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING ARE REAL PERSONS, MEET THEM
ANA DUATO #breakwithtrafficking
Actress Ana Duato began collaborating in this campaign in 2021. Her commitment to India and to Mumbai Smiles has led her to join this initiative to denounce a situation that is as unfair as it is real: the last remaining slavery in the 21st century.
