All set to celebrate our RIGHTS!
India is a country of festivals. Holi. Diwali. Ganeshotsav. Durga Puja. Eid. Christmas. And many, many more. However, there are a few important ones which aren’t celebrated with the same vigour and excitement as the ones mentioned above. One such event, that is often ignored by the people, and which is of upmost importance to each and every one of us, by virtue of being a Human being, is the International Human Rights Day event that is celebrated each year on the 10th of December.
At Mumbai Smiles, year 2016 saw the birth of a new project called JUMP2Justice, which is a Human Rights based project. And hence, celebrating Human Rights Day, at Mumbai Smiles this year, is all the more important to ensure awareness of this most basic privilege available to all of us, irrespective of our social, religious, regional, psychological, physical, emotional or economic status or beliefs. And unfortunately, some of the most educated individuals are also unaware of the concept and content of Human Rights.
So, tomorrow is going to be a grand celebration of Human Rights Day at Mumbai Smiles, with some cultural performances and some intellectually stimulating discussions on issues of Human Rights awareness and development as well as their solutions.
