211 parents learn about Child Rights with JUMP2justice Team

The Advocacy vertical at Mumbai Smiles was launched earlier this financial year with its infant project JUMP2justice (J2j) that works towards not only spreading awareness about the various Rights and Duties that all of us Indians respectively are entitled to and have a responsibility towards to follow, but also ensure that justice prevails and is guaranteed to all the citizens without any discrimination. The team of this project regularly conducts various awareness sessions for the community citizens by engaging in interactive discussions with the beneficiaries of our various projects – be it Preschool Education Program, Community Health, 1000 Hands etc.

The latest session held was with 211 parents of the students of our Preschool Education Program on Child Rights. The session was highly interactive with lot of questions from the parents to ensure that the concept of Child Rights and its importance gets deep engrained in the minds of the parents so they get empowered with this knowledge to safeguard the Rights of their own child. With different examples from the project team as well as the parents getting involved into the theme, the session was concluded to be a success.

The response to this session was extremely positive. Many parents gave their feedback as to how they were unaware of the concept of Child Rights before this session but will now ensure that their child is not denied these Rights!
